A recent episode on the Jonesy in the Morning YouTube podcast stirred controversy after host Jonesy went on an explosive rant, calling out several high-profile New York City radio personalities: Those being Ebro Darden, DJ Envy, Laura Stylez, and Peter Rosenberg.
How did all of this get started? Well it all started with Miss Jones vs. Ebro at Hot 97: Did He Steal Jonesy’s Show?
Not sure which clip to post first… the relatively mild one with The Stop, where Miss Jones aka Jonesy gives a “civilized” interview on her time at Hot 97 and 94.7 The Block.
OR the thoroughly uncouth clip from her own YouTube channel where Jonesy thanks Ebro for the promotion and gives some shade to her former co-host at Hot, DJ Envy (now of The Breakfast Club). But she also goes ballistic on Laura and Rosenberg. This one definitely contains very raw language which doesn’t sit well… due to the profane, vulgar, and stereotypical expressions she uses to attack Laura Stylez and Rosenberg. The back and forth is reminiscent of what New York City morning radio was like in the early 2000s, but does this work in 2026?
Recent memory would state that Jonesy wasn’t on anyone’s radar until DJ Envy and Ebro appeared on a Miss Jones in the Morning Show Reunion which happened in 2021 on YouTube, which led directly or indirectly to her landing the morning gig at 94.7 The Block in 2022.
