HOT 106.5 has named Shawn Knight as its new Assistant Director of Branding & Programming at Cox Media Group’s Jacksonville urban station.
Knight brings more than 30 years of experience in radio. His previous roles include Assistant Program Director positions at Kiss 107.3 in Tyler, Texas; K92.7 in Columbus, Georgia; and SOUL 106.3 in Chicago.
In addition to his new role, Knight will continue as afternoon drive host on HOT 106.5 and middays on Power 106.1.
Knight said he is honored by the opportunity to expand his programming expertise with Cox Media Group in Jacksonville, noting that he has come to consider Duval County home over the past year and looks forward to continuing to serve the community.
Director of Branding & Programming Elroy Smith said the role is a natural fit for Knight, praising his growth within CMG Jacksonville and describing the promotion as well earned. Smith also highlighted Knight’s energy, commitment, and passion for the business, noting that those qualities have a positive impact on those around him and expressing enthusiasm for his continued contributions in the new position.
