UPDATED on JULY 27: The NEW FORMAT on 94.5 Click Here
The sweeper says it all: “What the hell is going on at 94.5?”
The DJ’s are gone and the logo is about as generic as you can get at TheSoulofDFW.com.
Radio One Dallas/Ft. Worth Urban AC station KSoul 94.5 (KSOC-FM) is making changes and is tweaking the playlist, but at the present time the station doesn’t sound much different from before. There is still the standard Urban AC mix of music featuring Classic Soul and Today’s R&B.
The Tom Joyner Morning Show still airs in the morning from 5-9am, however they are jockless, including the syndicated Michael Baisden afternoon program the rest of the day. Baisden can’t be pleased that he is off the air in the number 5 radio market even though he is on vacation the next two weeks. But Radio One can’t be happy about not being able to garner at least a 2.0 share overall and trailing KRNB in the ratings.
What can you expect at the new 94.5? Probably just a makeover similar to Radio One’s updated presentation at Majic 102.3 WMMJ in Washington, DC. But what if the station pulled Michael Baisden in favor of say…Skip Murphy and Company in the afternoon? That move would make many listeners happy in the DFW. Let’s see what’s brewing… stay tuned.
