Urban Radio Nation began as a blog documenting Black Radio History (1950’s, 60’s, & 70’s) and the jocks that made it happen. Check out our video aircheck page. We eventually evolved into a daily news blog reporting on urban radio happenings and industry news in the Hip Hop and R&B radio arenas. Now we also dive into media, sports media, and pop culture. Our focus is on the personalities that make media and particularly radio, one of the most fascinating industries in the world. “We” have done a little of everything in radio and have done and seen enough to know that dealing with music labels is not everything it’s cracked up to be. So an outside and independent view of the industry is ultimately the best view of all.
