CBS Radio’s 94.7 The Wave in Los Angeles has transitioned from a smooth jazz outlet to an Urban Adult Contemporary station. For many years during the hey day of the smooth jazz format, “lite” R&B titles from the likes of Sade, Luther Vandross, and others were always a part of the song lists as it was with The Wave. The Smooth Jazz Sounds of ‘JJZ Returns to the Airwaves in Philadelphia

Smooth Jazz Will Air on 1480 AM and 106.1 HD2 Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Philadelphia announced today the return of Smooth Jazz sounds on ‘JJZ. Beginning Monday, June 10 at 12:00 p.m. EST, the Smooth Jazz format returns to the airwaves on 1480-AM and 106.1 HD2. CD 101.9 is Back on the Air in New York City

That’s if you have an HD Radio… Smooth jazz is back on the air in New York City at 101.9 FM. The station is a side channel on the new 101.9 New Rock. Merlin Media dropped its “all news” presentation earlier this month and switched to a new alternative rock format on its main FM signal. Now it has decided to drop the country format on its HD2 channel and return to the smooth jazz format of “CD 101.9” WQCD.
