The WNBA and WNBPA have reached a tentative verbal agreement for a new CBA. Term sheet will now go to the players and WNBA Board of Governors for a vote to ratify the new agreement. ESPN’s Alexa Philippou joined SportCenter this morning with the details. ESPN’s basketball insider Shams Charania was also all over this story as well. Check out their reports below.
While the deal is yet to be ratified by the players and their union, the big news is that a super max contracts goes from $249,000 to $1.4 million. The transformative deal includes massive salary increases—with the team salary cap rising to $7 million—a minimum salary over $300,000 with an average salary of around #600,000, and roughly 20% revenue sharing.
