Last month, the Dr. Michael Eric Dyson appeared in late February on the podcast Mohr Stories, where he compared Kendrick Lamar’s 2024 hit single “Not Like Us” to President Donald Trump profiling immigrants. In the clip below he questioned Kendrick’s portrayal in song of Drake as NOT Black. Dyson recently mentioned that Jay-Z vigorously disagreed with his comments about Kendrick attempting to strip Drake of his Blackness during the beef. (This was rap beef!) Anything is fair game when a part time rapper, part time crooner, like Drake invited himself into this battle that figuratively took place on wax.
Michael Eric Dyson revealed in a recent video that Jay-Z personally reached out to him and strongly pushed back against Dyson’s criticism of how Kendrick Lamar handled the feud with Drake.

After watching the clips below, it’s clear to say that Dr. Dyson might need to go somewhere and SIT DOWN!
UPDATED Post:
Now it looks like Michael Eric Dyson feels he needs to apologize for bringing a private text to the internet. (All of this seems a bit calculated.)

Check out more of the second (longer) clip where today Dyson explains himself and says both Kendrick and Drake are geniuses. He compares Kendrick to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Drake to T.D. Jakes. Huh?
Yes. Really he said this.
When has Drake ever stood on his Blackness? Was it or was it not Drake who said: “You rappin’ like you tryna get the slaves free”?
