Stephen A. Smith Only Wants to Run for President to Raise His Voice for Debate

In the YouTube online exclusive from CBS Sunday Morning, Stephen A. Smith, the host of ESPN’s “First Take” talks with national correspondent Robert Costa about running for President of the United States in 2028.

Draw your own conclusions, however on this extended interview it is quite evident that Smith is not considering putting his name in the hat for the Democratic presidential nomination other than to be a disrupter on a national stage. How does that benefit Smith? According to him, he will be able to bring issues to the forefront of the nation’s consciousness. He said he will take 2026 to learn the issues. He said he will be ready to debate in 2027. Who would give up $100 million contract to be president? (The reported value of his contract with ESPN.)

In the meantime, as Stephen A. Smith increases his traction in political arenas, it really only points to… overexposure.

Updated post: Still don’t think Stephen A. Smith is seriously considering a presidential run. The only thing he is considering is how much media influence can he gain… He wants to become bigger than ESPN.
