WURD Radio (Black Talk Media) and the Philadelphia Tribune interviewed Attorney Michael Coard at a rally and protest on President’s Day 2026 and reports that the City of Philadelphia and #ATAC has won round one of the lawsuit against the Trump administration. Judge Cynthia Rufe has ruled that the Slavery Memorial at the Presidents House should be restored. The Trump administration is expected to appeal. For now, the City and #ATAC (Avenging the Ancestors Coalition) have a victory.
Interviewing Coard is morning host Solomon Jones, who is a frequent contributor on the Abby Phillip anchored show News Night on CNN. Coard himself is also a WURD on air staffer. He offers the best in legal advice – for free. ‘Radio Courtroom’ airs Saturday on WURD.
WURD 900 AM/96.1 FM Radio is the only African-American owned and operated talk radio station in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (and one of only three remaining in the country). Started in 2002, over the past 19 years WURD has evolved into a multi-media, multi-platform communications company that reaches deeply into the Black community through radio, events, digital and social media. It is considered the go-to media channel to engage, interact and connect with Philadelphia’s Black community.
Founded in 1884 by Christopher James Perry Sr., The Philadelphia Tribune is the oldest and largest continuously published newspaper in the United States reflecting the African American experience. Based in Philadelphia, it acts as the “Voice of the Black Community,” covering local news, politics, and culture.
