Aziza Shuler, the Emmy Award-winning journalist and weekend anchor at CBS News Philadelphia (KYW-TV), has officially announced her departure from the station to join CBS New York (WCBS-TV). On October 12, 2025, Shuler shared the news via an emotional Instagram reel titled “THANK YOU PHILLY! ❤️❤️❤️” in which she expressed gratitude to her Philadelphia viewers and colleagues, saying she was “a better journalist and human” because of her time in the city.
Shuler’s move marks a return to her roots, as she previously earned her B.S. in Communications from St. John’s University in New York City and began her broadcast career in the region. Known for her inspirational reporting style and openness about her personal struggles—such as her public story about living with alopecia—Shuler has quickly become a respected figure in broadcast journalism.
At CBS New York, she is expected to take on an anchor and reporter role, although the station has not yet released full details about her new assignment. Her move continues CBS’s trend of elevating diverse and community-focused journalists to major-market roles.
