Roxy Romeo Replaces ‘Way Up with Angela Yee’ as Midday Host as Power 99 Maintains Local On-Air Presence

Official: iHeartMedia Philadelphia’s Power 99, Philadelphia’s Hip Hop and R&B, announced today the debut of “The Breakfast Club” effective Monday, October 13, 2025. “The Breakfast Club” will broadcast on weekdays from 6am to 10am.

“The Breakfast Club” is an iconic morning show delivering the hottest R&B/Hip-Hop hits to young trendsetters nationwide, reaching 6.6 million listeners monthly. Hosted by multi-platform stars Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Jess Hilarious, the show is renowned for candid, witty interviews with megastars like Kevin Hart, Jay Z, Ed Sheeran, Cardi B, Will Smith, Mel Robbins and President Barack Obama. Consistently ranked #1 in The Source Power 30, this Radio Hall of Fame program extends beyond mornings with its on-demand podcast, which has surpassed 1 billion streams and 7 million monthly downloads. More than a radio show, “The Breakfast Club” is a cultural hub for Hip-Hop, pop culture, politics and community, delivering some of the most compelling interviews on air or online.

Roxy Romeo, previously a co-host on The Rise & Grind Morning Show and well-known for her voice work in multiple iHeart markets, transitions to the midday slot on Power 99 following the departure of Mikey Dredd and MuthaKnows. This marks the end of an era, with Mikey Dredd reflecting on 30 years at the station and MuthaKnows acknowledging over 14 years of service on their Instagram posts.
