Mero fired back at DJ Akademiks after being called a “DEI hire” on one of his Twitch streams. Mero took dead aim at the guy Erykah Badu once said resembled Jerry the mouse of Tom & Jerry. Brushing off the comment off as a lazy take from someone who does not contribute to the culture, Mero warned that Akademiks doesn’t want to take him on.
Mero contrasted their careers by highlighting his own interviews with major figures like Denzel Washington, President Barack Obama, and Matt Damon—conversations he says reflect his range and trust within the entertainment culture. By comparison, he dismissed Akademiks’ content as focused on much lesser names like Tekashi 6ix9ine and Wack 100, suggesting it leans more toward spectacle than meaningful dialogue.
Meanwhile Akademiks is pushing to debate Ebro. His response on the Ebro Laura Rosenberg podcast framed that request as simply promotion and clout-chasing.
