NBC10’s Newest Anchor and Reporter is Lena Tillett

NBC10’s newest anchor and reporter Lena Tillett is making her debut on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. She spoke with her fellow anchor Fred Shropshire about her background, her interests and why she’s so excited to work in Philly.

From NBC10.com –Nearly 20 years later, I’m grateful to still hold that deep belief, and to be able to now share YOUR stories. And boy do Philadelphians know how to tell a good story! Everyone I’ve met — from Lyft drivers to baristas to my kids’ teachers — everyone has a story about their neighborhood, favorite restaurant, schools and of course their TEAMS. I want to hear and share those stories as I step into this new role as an NBC10 anchor and reporter. I have admired this newsroom from afar for years! And that’s because the talent, experience, and knowledge of this area among this team runs deep! I look forward to learning from my colleagues.

A little about me: I was born and raised in Washington DC and Maryland. I’ve worked in news markets in Brooklyn, New York, Omaha, Nebraska, and most recently spent nearly a decade in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a mom of two boys, a three-year-old and one-year-old, I was eager to get closer to family. My family stretches up I-95, with cousins and aunties in Philly and Delaware County. They cannot wait to pour into our sons.

I’ve been blessed to have success in local news, but here’s what I’m asking of you: I’m not a native Philadelphian, however I’m thrilled to now call this region home. I care deeply about sharing stories that reflect the human spirit, its resilience, and its ability to inspire. I also believe in holding the powerful to account. I’m looking forward to digging deep on stories that matter most to you, and to get you answers that you feel you’re not getting.
