Druski’s latest viral video parodies megachurch culture by portraying an over-the-top pastor who floats into a service with dramatic lighting, smoke, and Kirk Franklin music. It’s filled with exaggerated “sermon” lines as he flaunts designer clothes, pushes huge donation goals, and ends counting cash while driving off in a luxury car.
Many people online found the skit hilarious because it hits close to real megachurch theatrics and prosperity preaching. While others said the skit is so absurd and not believable. However, others don’t mind the satire and think it sparks an overdue conversation about money and spectacle in some church circles. Some viewers have unfollowed Druski, feeling the joke was disrespectful to religion or “crossed a line” by seemingly mocking faith itself.
Druski’s skit was absolutely made for an engaging radio segment, which was the case on The Breakfast Club and the new morning show on Hot 97, Mornings with Mero.
And this was from three years ago. Now we know why Druski was suspended in air and spit at the end of his skit.
