Dr. Boyce Watkins of AOL Black Voices and YourBlackWorld.com along with other panelists discussed the Kelley Williams-Bolar case on AC 360 with Soledad O’Brien. Ms. Williams-Bolar served nine days of a 10 day sentence for enrolling her daughters in a school district outside of her Akron, Ohio neighborhood. Isn’t the basic issue here the inequality of education in public schools across America and not what this mother knew she had to do to get her kids a good education?
We learn that Dr. Watkins and Rev. Al Sharpton are planning a rally in support of education. We applaud their efforts to put media into action.
