>Black Dub "I Believe in You" – A new Rock Band with Soul

>

Black Dub, a new group led by guitarist and rock producer Daniel Lanois (most notably for U2), has a distinctive sound that combines rock, blues, and soul with superior musicianship.
The band features Lanois on guitar, New Orleans based drummer Brian Blade, who has performed with such jazz legends as Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, the soulful vocals of Trixie Whitley, (if you mistake her for Joss Stone that’s OK) and famed Louisiana bass player Daryl Johnson.

The Black Dub album was released earlier this month with a focus on live studio sessions that were often done in one take. Lanois told Rolling Stone magazine “I had been fantasizing about putting a band together for a long time that would allow me to write music with a funkier angle.”

“I Believe in You” has emerged from the album as a favorite with many.
