Last week saw the release of the much anticipated album release by Maxwell, his first in 8 years. Unfortunately some of the buzz was curtailed by the public memorial service of Michael Jackson on 7/7/09.
The first release from the new album BLACKsummer’snight, “Pretty Wings” has slowly but surely been added to urban (Hip Hop/R&B) radio playlist that’s targeted to 18-34 year olds. That’s good to see. Most of the pre-release album buzz was concentrated on Urban Adult Contemporary radio (25-54) listeners.
This is simply a great song by Maxwell.
