Jeff Foxx Let Go From 98.7 Kiss FM Morning Show

Jeff Foxx has been pulled from “The Wake Up Club” over at 98.7 Kiss FM WRKS New York in a budget cut move by Emmis Broadcasting. Everybody else on the morning show remains including Raqiyah, comedian Talent and news reporter Bob Slade. Foxx previously did mornings at Clear Channel’s “Jammin’ Oldies” WTJM before 105.1 transitioned into the urban “Power 105.1” WWPR-FM.

    >I think it is outrageous, Jeff Fox was the anchor and main talent on the show, it was a great mix of people. I love his laugh and his quirky jokes, he needs to be returned. If you need to cut anyone it should be Rakyiah, her segment contributions were small compared to Jeff Fox’s on air performance. It seems unfair, I believe it is more to this story than meets the eye. Bring Jeff Fox back. I miss him very much. How can you let him go like that.

And Kissfm acts as if he never even existed. Who knows, maybe Jeff doesn’t even want to discuss the reasons for his ouster– it may be embarrassing? -he says nothing on his Myspace page – or maybe there is a legal “gag order”? In this economic market place I understand changes and flexibility but this was not the best choice to make for your listeners.first,I was upset that Shaila was not apart of the morning team ……but I was consoled that she was still apart to the Kiss lineup so I stayed and continued listening !!! Now I will have to take my “patronage” to another station that appreciates it’s listeners.Honestly the Morning Club balance and energy is not there anymore!!!I sincerely wish Jeff the best in everything he does !!!SB007

He was the key guy on the team and it’s not the same without him. I will probably switch to the Steve Harvey morning show – sadly. I listened to KISS because of him and have attended events that he and others were involved from the station. You will lose a lot of listeners!!

I enjoyed him…his laugh, his crazy jokes,and his interaction with Talent, Bob and the rest of the staff as well as the listening audience. I, too, was disappointed with the change that took Shalia out of the mix. Jeff, Talent, Shalia, and Bob were a wonderful mix. The addition of Rakyiah for the short time along with the original mix was great. I enjoyed it. I miss Jeff…I wish him all the best; however, I hope the best for him is to return to the Wake Up Club…because without him there may be less people who say “The Wake Up Club is my morning show”.

I’m all for a young sister having a job and all but Rah-Rah needs to be on hot 97 or Power 105. She is not grown folks material. I was already disturbed when you got rid of Shaila for no explained reason. When she was on the Wake-up Club, the show was hilarious. I used to love to hear her and Talent get into it with Jeff co-signing and Bob being the mediator of the group. The show was good and very mature for my liking. More mature issues were discussed and things were fine. I think the powers that be need to really make some concrete changes. For one thing, who on earth is in charge of programing the music I hear each morning? I am sick to death of hearing the same songs from the 80’s over and over and over again. I have been listening to the same old songs for over a year now and I am at my wits end!!!!!! It is REDUNDANT!!!!!!! I should not have to hear “When Doves Cry by Prince or “Off the Wall” by Michael Jackson as if they were the #1 and #2 songs of 2008 and 2009. I know they are classics but I should not have to hear those songs every day or every week. For the love of God PLEASE STOP this madness. I am a 60’s,70’s lady and I would love to hear some Bobby Womack, Delphonics, Aretha Franklin, Moments, Marvin Gaye, just to name a few. All I hear are the same old boring songs from the 80’s which I am sick to death of. I want to hear REAL MUSIC!!!! I want to hear other songs by James Brown besides “Sex Machine” or “Get on the Good Foot”. How about “Escapism”, “Talking Loud and Saying Nothing”, “Say it Loud, I’m Black and I’m Proud”. What about those songs. What about “El Coco’s “Let’s Get it Together”? Do you feel me? Do you realize that people are paying thousands of dollars for real old school music from the 60’s and 70’s? Whether it is by downloading or buying mixed CDs on the streets just to hear their old time favorite songs. This is because we don’t hear them on the radio. Why? Because the powers that be just don’t get it. This redundant music has to go!!! I mean if you like, I can come in and play or make some suggestions. I don’t have no degree in communications, journalism or radio engineering but I know what will have your station jumping off the charts!!! What the powers that be need to do is make Felix Hernandez an offer he can’t refuse and give him some more air time. It is only on Sunday’s that I get to bask in my glory and enjoy music from my era. Felix is the best and can’t nobody play music like him. That programmed music needs to be changed more frequently. Bugsy and Red Alert can play great music but they aren’t on when they need to be. I also think their hands are tied as to what they can or can not play. It’s sickening to hear the same crap day in and day out. I’m not saying play real old school music 24/7 365 day a year (would be fine with me) but I feel there is an audience out there who would love to hear more music from their era being played more often as well. Until I see or hear some real changes on Kiss FM, I will no longer be listenting to them in the morning or any time during the week for that matter. I’m done!!!!I’ll just listen to Felix on Sunday’s from 12PM to 5PM. I know this comment is over the top and I’ve swerved to the left on the main comment but I have been wanting to get this off my chest for months now. Why don’t you ask your listeners what they think about this idea. I would love to know their response. Thank you.

Now she is in the forefront of the show, I CAN’T STAND IT/CANT TAKE HER!!!!. I have been listening for about three weeks wondering where Jeff Fox was, thinking he was on vacation/out sick and when no one was saying anything about him I said, “Now wait a minute, don’t tell me that Jeff is no longer on the show”. Well, now that I know he is gone, I’M OUT!!!! The morning show is now WACKED, and the music is WACKED. Don’t get me wrong Bod Slade and Talent I love, but I can’t listen anymore. When I first started listening the show, I wished that it was syndicated because I live in Philly but work in Newark, NJ. The show was that good, now the show is pointless and boring. Bring back the “Jeff Foxx Morning Show” with the original crew, and PLEASE, PLEASE get rid of Raquiyah.

I tried listening but it's painful – WRONG MOVE KISS!!! If any cuts were to be made, Rocky should have been the one. There's no more life to the show – it makes no sense. I have been an avid listener but will now only listen to the Open Line on Sundays morning & will most likely start listening to Ed Lover.

I was a long time listener of the Wake Up Club until hearing that Jeff Fox is gone. I listened every day for years from 6 am while waiting for the bus until 10am (with the air bud in one ear at my desk). Jeff made the morning show – he was the morning show. His laugh was infectious. He made the Cranks hilarious. I tried to listen a few times since he left, but it is defintely not the same. It is dry and lacking so many things. This was an extremely poort decision on managements part. The Jeff, Talent Shaila team was the best ever on the air. I was sad when Shaila replace Keisha Monk and Raquiah came on the scene – but again Jeff was the morning show.It was fun – but I'm done. Jeff – where ever you are, I pray you will be a success & will be on air again. It would be good to create a blog for your fans.

That syndicated Big Boi's Neighborhood – awful. Steve Harvey – embarrassing. Ed Lover – amateur, uninteresting. The only programs worth listening to: OpenLine (KISS FM – Sunday mornings); Funkmaster Flex (HOT 97); Hal Jackson (WBLS – Sundays); Wendy Williams (but I can only stand her for a short while – WBLS); Felix Hernandez (KISS FM – Sundays after OpenLine); Ruben Toro (house/club/dance like it's supposed to be – KISS FM – lunchtimes and late Saturday nite/early Sunday mornings).

This won’t be the last change for black radio in NY.This is a common theme in radio to let air personalities go and make no anouncements to the audience. First you drop tons of ads and appearances to get us attached and then let them go with no announcement. Radio is so predictable. Whats going to happen next is they will boost DL Hughley Morning show featuring R, T and BS then when ratings climb they will syndicate it to other parts of the Country to make more money. They did not get DL Hughley for the NY market alone. Don’t believe it. If budget cuts made them let Jeff Foxx go then how could they afford DL Hughley. Then they will have two syndicated shows based in NY (MB and DLH). They felt alot of pressure to compete with Steve Harvey in the morning. I hope they will be more sophisticated than Steve Harvey because that show is GHETTO.

I share the same interest as you all I am quite upset because Jeff was funny real funny & i enjoyed listening to him Talent & Bob. Rocky she can go she does no justice for the show. It is now boring & I myself will be switching to the Steve Harvey Show which I don't want to do but until Jeff comes back that's where you'll find me. I am completely disappointed in Kiss!

I like the chemistry that the personalities bought to the airwaves to get my day started. I truly hope Jeff returns he possesses the spirit for morning radio. I recall listening to him back when he and Ken “Spider” Webb did mornings together. Emmis Broadcasting wants us to believe it is due to budget cuts or right sizing. But the truth all comes down to ratings and the almighty dollar. We have heard DL Hughley guest hosting for about two weeks now, we can rest assured that he has been made the offer to take over the show. If he does I don’t know if I can listen to morning radio anymore. First Steve Harvey now DL ….what next …………

His warmth…his laughter…his larger than life personality that you feel through the radio…and all of his funny characters always added bounce to my day. I can’t imagine why they wouldn’t kick that useless, self-serving, arrogant and rude Rakyiah to the curb.I am boycotting KISS FM and don’t want to hear anything from them because of their treatment of Jeff.Wherever Jeff goes, I will follow.Love you Jeff…

Letting Jeff Foxx go from KISS FM was a major, major mistake. He was truly the anchor of the Morning Show. I miss his professionalism, wit and infectious laugh. Whether paired with George Wallace, Talent, or Shaila, Jeff was always the glue that held it all together. I find the current conversations between Talent and Rakyiah, and their "topic of the day" to be extremely boring and juvenile. The regular updates of Rakyiah's 'baby mama drama' is totally inappropriate and should not be used for entertainment purposes. Also, Talent's new role as 'women's relationship advisor' is truly pathetic and no more than a filler. Clearly minimal thought and preparation is given to each morning's segments and overall production. I have currently become an NPR and WBLS morning listener and will remain so unless Jeff Foxx returns to KISS FM.

On the day when the students, fellow educators, a community, and his family were mourning the lost of this educators, Kiss is engaging in a foolish conversation. So like others I say good-bye to a long relationship with Kiss FM.

I loved the show, I used to leave my house in the morning with a smile laughing at something that was said on the show. Now the show is boring and the powers that be should reconsider bringing back Jeff, Talent and Shaila.
