Radio Big Mack: NYC’s New Morning Show Host at 94.7 is Now on YouTube

5 minutes, 2 seconds Read

Radio Big Mack was a Miami-based radio personality at 99Jamz, a comedian, and creator known as a cast member on Nick Cannon’s Wild ‘N Out (since Season 12). He was also a writer for The Breakfast Club. All of that changed this year when he was named the morning host in New York City at 94.7 The Block, New York’s #1 for Throwbacks. With over a decade in radio, the name makes since.

With no previous New York City on air radio experience and no name recognition outside of Wild ‘N Out, Radio Big Mack has some big shoes to fill. Shouldn’t be too hard since he is a big guy! As we assess his almost three months on the air, Mack is holding his own and is putting out an entertaining morning show. His main competition of course is from The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 and Hot 97’s Mornings with Mero.

Morning shows set the ratings tone for the station, so it will be interesting to see where the ratings stand a year from now. (Yes it really takes a year for a new radio to establish itself in a marketplace.) Last month The Breakfast Club garnered their best ratings ever. This coming after the upheavals of Miss Jones on 94.7 The Block and Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97.

Like many other radio morning shows, including The Breakfast Club despite their Netflix deal, posting the audio from that particular show to YouTube a few hours later, has become a strategy to engage listeners.

Now the YouTube views for the audio portion of the Radio Big Mack Show and the Wake and Bake mix featuring DJ Dre Boogs aren’t stellar (we guess when they say LIKE and SUBSCRIBE– it really makes a difference). But what we have posted is essentially a complete sample representative of 94.7 The Block’s morning show. There is great interaction with Mack and his callers chiming in on the topic of the day. Also the Wake and Bake Mix features a mix usually reserved for a Slow Jams or The Quiet Storm show. It seems to have been a hit with listeners. Meanwhile the last mix is a topical tribute to Jersey’s own Michael B. Jordan after he received the Best Male Actor Oscar for ‘Sinners.”

We think the show has a bright future.

Take a listen to one of this week’s shows and the mixes.

Big Mac’s homie is almost 40, has two and a half kids, no real job, still pushing the greenery โ€” and is STILL working on the same mixtape from college. New York had to weigh in on whether Big Mac is being a good friend or a hater for wanting to tell him it’s time to let it go. The debate got REAL. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Plus โ€” Jay-Z is headlining the Roots Picnic 2026 in Philly on May 30th for his first major live set in years. Cardi B just launched her hair care line Grow Good Beauty with products starting at $14.99 โ€” pre-sales drop March 24th. Mystical pleaded guilty to third-degree rape charges and is now facing up to 20 years. Amazon is rolling out one-hour and three-hour delivery to hundreds of cities nationwide. The show Paradise just got renewed for Season 3, and Big Mac is still on episode two of Season 1. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Lil Wayne tickets are up for grabs for Jones Beach Theater September 10th, Kevin Thornton from Stony Brook wins $1,000, and Dre Boogs drops the Woman Crush Wednesday R&B Wake & Bake Mix. Smooth like that.

This is 22 minutes of the most sensual R&B we could legally air before noon โ€” the kind of mix that was supposed to drop at midnight for a Quiet Storm situation. But it’s 2026, we don’t follow rules anymore, and somebody’s gonna be late for work in broad daylight. That somebody might be you. We’re not sorry. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Next set the mood, Changing Faces told you exactly where this was going, Dru Hill showed up twice and meant it both times, Prince dropped Purple Rain like he owned the whole morning, Jodeci came through FEENIN’ โ€” and then had the audacity to love you for life too. Subway & 702 ran a lil game, Aaliyah gave you one in a million, Sisqo got incomplete, Justin brought T.I. to say my love, Monica said she’d do it for you, Craig David filled it all in, and Janet Jackson closed the whole thing out at any time, any place. ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ
Boss said you’re late. Blame Jodeci. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The weekend was legendary โ€” and last night made it even better. ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽฌ
Newark’s own Michael B. Jordan took home the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role last night and we are not letting that slide by without proper acknowledgment. Jersey, this one’s for you. ๐Ÿงก

Episode 51 is built for one purpose โ€” to drag you out of the weekend, dust you off, and send you straight into the week with your head up and your eyes on the bag. The energy this week is simple: get out there, make money, get bread, touch paper. Period.

Masta Ace rolled us out, Biggie gave us one more chance, Crooklyn Clan asked if New York was in the house, Jadakiss knocked you out, Jeezy reminded you what he loves, State Property rocked the mic, Cassidy ran the hustle, and Fetty Wap โ€” straight out of Paterson, Jersey โ€” closed the whole thing out with 679. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

From Newark to Paterson to the rest of the Garden State โ€” we see you. Congratulations Michael B. Jordan. ๐Ÿ‘‘

New week. New bag. Let’s go. ๐Ÿ’ฐ
