Robert Griffin III is the master click chaser and gaslighter. He needed someone to really explain to him how social media will take this incident and run with it. He has contributed to it by saying Angel Reese hates Caitlin Clark.
Torrey Smith @TorreySmithWR May 17
That's a reckless statement assuming that someone hates the other. Considering how racist folks have been towards Angel. She doesn't hate her, if she did, she would say it. She is authentic and a competitor. Saying she doesn't like her wouldn't be the end of the world.
Ryan Clark @Realrclark25 May 19
RGIII saying he could recognize “hate when ‘he’ see(s) it”, when referring to Angel Reese’s feelings toward Caitlin Clark was irresponsible, but not at all surprising. Clark’s the biggest star in women’s basketball, & deservedly so. No need to beat up Reese to add shine to it.
RGIII plays into the narrative that Reese is the villain of Clark’s hero origin story. Now, Oberman & Portnoy, who berated Reese in college, have an ally in Griffin. Add him to the list of black men who’ve adopted the corny trend of denigrating black women to affirm their choices.
At the end of the day IT'S A LEGIT BASKETBALL PLAY. But RGIII is a joke for fueling racist views. (He's just looking for clicks and views) Don't know who's worst - him or Jason Whitlock who said: "Angel Reese epitomizes the power granted angry black women, a power being abused to produce negative outcomes. We’ve erected a system that rationalizes and rewards the irresponsible and angry behavior of black women and exaggerates their contributions to success." Whitlock you got all of that from a play that was called a flagrant foul on Clark?
Now for some legitimate takes on the play.
Kelsey Nicole Nelson (KNN) @therealknelson May 18
Let’s please stop this irresponsible narrative. Caitlin Clark was the aggressor in the hard foul on Angel Reese. Angel obv. didn’t like the flagrant foul and let her know. It’s competitive play. They have both been on record saying they respect each other’s game as competitors.
Torrey Smith @TorreySmithWR May 18
There is a reason why they call it a flagrant foul. Every NBA player (and open gym player) has a reaction to a flagrant foul. We've seen it all year. None of those dudes get accused of hating anyone except Draymond Green. Why aren't we saying CC hates Angel?
Marc Lamont Hill @marclamonthill May 17
From what I can tell, Caitlin Clark’s foul on Angel Reese looked quite ordinary. It was also the right basketball play. It seems like Angel overreacted. Maybe it was just her competitive spirit, but I don’t know why she wouldn’t expect to get fouled in that situation.
Mike Hill @ItsMikeHill May 17
Yes, Angel Reese overreacted but so are many of y’all. It’s BASKETBALL. Stop using it as an excuse to weaponize your racism.

CoCo Jones' album was made available to The Breakfast Club the same morning of the interview which doesn’t allow them time enough to listen to it. The interviews on The Breakfast Club are recorded the day before they are actually heard on the show by the audience. Let’s say the actual interview with Jones was recorded at 10am… The person at Def Jam probably thought there was no problem with making it available to TBC at 7:45. Somebody dropped the ball. (Why did Def Jam do this? Is it simply because R&B artists will never sell like Hip Hop?)
GREAT comment from YouTube: "...Back in the day neither I nor my friends knew or cared about how many records or cassettes or cds an album sold. We were excited for new music from bands and rappers we liked and formed our own personal relationships with the albums. I would lay in bed and read liner notes in the booklets, excited to see photos and lyrics. The first rap cassette I ever owned was "Resurrection" by Common, which I found on the floor under a chair in summer school. I had no idea how many albums he was selling, I just knew that I found a piece of art and I was excited to get home and explore it."

“...The decision had been made a while ago, and I was aware of it."
Following his exit Tyrone Johnson later explained, “It was after the show; I’ll just be transparent. They brought me into the office, and it was nothing too complicated, nothing too crazy.” Johnson left a message on YouTube this past week regarding his future plans and failure to deliver a better show.
Johnson, a former producer, was named the lead afternoon host at 97.5 The Fanatic in May 2022, after previous host Mike Missanelli could not come to terms of a new contract. (In the meantime, Missanelli has returned to the station as midday host.)
The show, given the unusual name - "The Best Show Ever?", aired on 97.5 The Fanatic and was simulcasted on TV via NBC Sports Philadelphia (the local regional sports network).
However, last Friday, the Phillies took on the Cubs during an afternoon game in Chicago and Johnson’s last show did not air on TV, only on radio. Setting up an opportunity for the executives to quietly bring Johnson into the office and to relieve him of his duties at the station. A decision they made weeks ago.
Josh Inness posted the following statement on social media. Well, I have applied for the 97.5 The Fanatic gig. There is a 0.0% chance I’m even considered…but it’s fun.
Inness is a former sports host in Houston and Philadelphia, who simply left sports media because of his boredom with sports talk radio. His previous run in Philly sports radio was controversial at rival 94 WIP. He was fired after posting a BLACKFACE photo of Al Jolson in response to a bit on the Mike Missanelli show (his competition) on 97.5 The Fanatic, where a producer was imitating a fictitious Black amateur hockey playing caller named Dwayne. The bit, filled with every stereotypical clichés imaginable, was unknown to Missanelli. That producer at the time was not fired.

Terrell "Lucky" John, the voice of numerous radio ads across the United States, including Top Dog Law, was featured in a Black History Month segment (???) on WSOC-TV in Charlotte, NC. We guess it works because he's been doing this ads for years on radio stations featuring Black listeners. For us, it's an immediate turnoff whenever a Top Dog Law ad airs.
Interesting enough there are Top Dog Law commercials on Pop Top 40 stations, but Terrell John doesn't voice them. Wonder why?
The Velvet Voice of Jazz radio, Nicole Sweeney is the new host of Evening Jazz on 90.1 WRTI in Philadelphia. Sweeney most recently was the evening host on SiriusXM Real Jazz channel and 88.3 WBGO Newark/New York City. She takes over for Greg Bryant who relocated to Los Angeles in January.
