Charlamagne Tells CoCo Jones that Def Jam Doesn't Care About Her Debut Album - We Agree

CoCo Jones' album was made available to The Breakfast Club the same morning of the interview which doesn’t allow them time enough to listen to it. The interviews on TBC are conducted the day before that actually air on the show. Let’s say the actual interview with Jones was conducted at 10am… The person at Def Jam probably thought there was no problem with making it available to TBC at 7:45. Somebody dropped the ball. (Why did Def Jam do this? Is it simply because R&B artists will never sell like Hip Hop?)

Why Not More? is Jones' first-ever full-length album, and features 14 new songs, including previously-released tracks like "Taste," "Most Beautiful Design," "Sweep It Up" and "Here We Go (Uh-Oh)," and guest appearances from YG Marley and Future and London On Da Track.

In a recent interview, Jones said of her new project, "I'm just proud of every version of myself that I've been, and who I'll become after this album." She added, "And really proud of putting together a project that I feel confident in." CHECK OUT>> interview below with Nadeska of Apple Music

Tyrone Johnson Exits 97.5 The Fanatic Philadelphia and Leaves a Departing Message

“...The decision had been made a while ago, and I was aware of it."

Following his exit Tyrone Johnson later explained, “It was after the show; I’ll just be transparent. They brought me into the office, and it was nothing too complicated, nothing too crazy.” Johnson left a message on YouTube this past week regarding his future plans and failure to deliver a better show.

Johnson, a former producer, was named the lead afternoon host at 97.5 The Fanatic in May 2022, after previous host Mike Missanelli could not come to terms of a new contract. (In the meantime, Missanelli has returned to the station as midday host.)

The show, given the unusual name - "The Best Show Ever?", aired on 97.5 The Fanatic and was simulcasted on TV via NBC Sports Philadelphia (the local regional sports network).

However, last Friday, the Phillies took on the Cubs during an afternoon game in Chicago and Johnson’s last show did not air on TV, only on radio. Setting up an opportunity for the executives to quietly bring Johnson into the office and to relieve him of his duties at the station. A decision they made weeks ago.

Josh Inness, former host on KSHE 95, Applies for the Afternoon Opening at 97.5 The Fanatic

Josh Inness posted the following statement on social media. Well, I have applied for the 97.5 The Fanatic gig. There is a 0.0% chance I’m even considered…but it’s fun.

Inness is a former sports host in Houston and Philadelphia, who simply left sports media because of his boredom with sports talk radio. His previous run in Philly sports radio was controversial at rival 94 WIP. He was fired after posting a BLACKFACE photo of Al Jolson in response to a bit on the Mike Missanelli show (his competition) on 97.5 The Fanatic, where a producer was imitating a fictitious Black amateur hockey playing caller named Dwayne. The bit, filled with every stereotypical clichés imaginable, was unknown to Missanelli. That producer at the time was not fired.

Tired of hearing the Top Dog Law voiceover guy - - of course he does it all without a script

Terrell "Lucky" John, the voice of numerous radio ads across the United States, including Top Dog Law, was featured in a Black History Month segment (???) on WSOC-TV in Charlotte, NC. We guess it works because he's been doing this ads for years on radio stations featuring Black listeners. For us, it's an immediate turnoff whenever a Top Dog Law ad airs.

Interesting enough there are Top Dog Law commercials on Pop Top 40 stations, but Terrell John doesn't voice them. Wonder why?
