>Rolling With Only the 80’s and 90’s, Not a Good Idea for Urban AC Radio

> Many listeners and armchair PD’s believe you can grow a format with New Jack Swing R&B and Hip Hop from that era. At the present time, WMMJ Majic 102.3 is in the midst of taking their advice and re-programming their playlists. The most recent PPM Ratings revealed that WMMJ was the Number 2 overall listened to station in the Washington, D.C. area. But that was before the change. They put it out there, that they were dumping their entire airstaff (because no one wants to hear DJ’s chattering between songs) and going with a younger, “80’s, 90’s and today” … Continue reading >Rolling With Only the 80’s and 90’s, Not a Good Idea for Urban AC Radio

>DC’s Majic 102.3 Makes It’s Big Announcement

> No, the announcement has nothing to do with Donnie Simpson returning to the Washington, D.C. airwaves, in fact Donnie may not even fit in with their new format. The announcement doesn’t even have to do with the station naming new hosts after firing the entire airstaff two weeks ago. It has to do with Majic 102.3 (WMMJ) going commercial free for 102 hours and according to the website DCRTV, Majic is looking to tweak their format to appeal more to women 35-44. This format focuses on playing R&B from the “80’s, 90’s and Today”, and is currently running on … Continue reading >DC’s Majic 102.3 Makes It’s Big Announcement

>Radio One’s Majic 102.3 WMMJ Set to Relaunch Station, Seeking New On Air Personalities

>You can not only become a club member, you could become a member “on the air” at the station. Last week Majic 102.3, Radio One’s Washington, D.C. Urban AC station fired their entire on-air staff. Usually new PD’s try to get to know the market before making drastic changes at a station … Continue reading >Radio One’s Majic 102.3 WMMJ Set to Relaunch Station, Seeking New On Air Personalities
