Tammie Holland became a beloved personality with her work at “Majic 108” KMJM and her time at KDHX radio, Channel 5 KSDK-TV and Channel 46 WRBU-TV. She joined “Magic 104.9” (at a different frequency) in 2004 as morning co-host spending a decade with Tony Scott until the station move to 100.3 and then it's flip to “100.3 The Beat” in 2014. See the video below as she talked about her time with Tony Scott.
Holland had been very open and transparent about her battle with colon cancer when she was initially diagnosed in July 2021. (Quite frankly we had thought she was overcoming that battle and turned the corner due to her many recent encouraging social media posts.) Last month she announced had elected to move to hospice care.
In a statement station Foxy 106.9 stated, “Tammie’s remarkable legacy in the radio industry spans over three decades, and her impact on the city of St. Louis will be deeply felt. Tammie was a cherished fixture on Foxy 106.9, known for her warm smile, contagious laughter, and genuine enthusiasm for life. Her signature voice and engaging storytelling style made her a favorite among listeners, and her presence on the airwaves will be deeply missed.”
“Tammie was a kind, charming, and infectious presence who brought joy to countless listeners. Her signature laugh will be remembered forever. As a media veteran, she touched many lives through her work in radio, TV, acting, and podcasting. Our deepest condolences go out to Tammie’s loved ones. May she rest in peace and continue to inspire us all.”
“We are devastated to lose our dear friend and colleague,” said Don “DJ-Wrekk-1” Williams, Program Director of Foxy 106.9. “Tammie was more than just a talented broadcaster — she was a kind, compassionate, and generous soul who touched countless lives through her work. In addition to the on-air tribute, we will be working closely with Tammie’s family to provide support during this difficult time. As we remember Tammie’s life and legacy, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will continue to live on through the countless lives she touched and the memories she created.”
To honor Tammie’s memory, Foxy 106.9 will dedicate the 8am and 5pm (CT) hours on Monday, July 22 to inspirational songs, memories, and messages from past and present influential people in her life.
