>Can you believe what Tom Joyner is doing on his morning show?

> Tom Joyner is playing one particular song almost every day on his radio show as if it was brand new. The music you hear on nationally syndicated radio shows are pretty much the same; however at times those shows, dominated by the likes of Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey, and Michael Baisden, will occasionally go off chart or totally ignore the predetermined list of new songs available to radio called “adds.” You will get more music variety on their shows versus what’s played during the rest of the day on most Urban AC stations across the country. Maybe because Joyner, … Continue reading >Can you believe what Tom Joyner is doing on his morning show?

>Understanding the Performance Royalty Tax

>Many years ago when radio was battling against allegations of payola, an illegal practice in the eyes of the government; an agreement was reached so that radio stations would pay a “tax” to songwriters for playing music on the air. For example if you take a popular song like “For the Love of Money” by The O’Jays, many know as the theme of Donald Trump’s Apprentice television show, everytime you hear that song on the radio, the station pays a fee to … Continue reading >Understanding the Performance Royalty Tax
