Radio Website Continues to Grab Our Ideas

Former logo of the site in question. Their newlogo and banner mirrors our color schemethat we designed in 2009. Coincidence?  Once upon a time a website offered us a writing position. (With one stipulation…) We would have to shut down this site. Thanks, but no thanks. The site in question recently complained and attacked the radio industry on their writing skills or as they put it their lack thereof. Yes, this blogging thing ain’t easy. Good writers are hard to come by. But we still think they think we write for them. When did we say yes, we will write … Continue reading Radio Website Continues to Grab Our Ideas

>Check Out Our New Music Indie Artist Page

> Our email inbox is full each and everyday with a ton of stuff from independent artists looking to get their music out to the public. There is no way that we can possibly blog (or even want to…) on all the stuff we get. But some of the email we get is worthy of a mention. So we have created another page to highlight those artists that come to us with a good product with an excellent email package. The Internet audio stats for “Average Active sessions” have steadily swelled from nearly 420,000 in June to 585,000 in November – with more than 214 million “Session Starts” monitored … Continue reading >Ando Media Reports More and More People Listening to Pandora Internet Radio

>They stop playing the same thing on the radio

>The Roots and Chrisette Michele have a new track out called “Rising Up” and it goes a little something like this – “Yesterday I saw a B-girl cryingI walked up and asked what’s wrong, she told me that the radio’s been playing the same song all day long…” Well yesterday I was listening to the radio and I heard them not playing the same song, but they were talking and having some intelligent conversation on the hip hop urban station. And it was on the Miss Jones morning show broadcast on Hot 97 and 100.3 The Beat. Of course Miss … Continue reading >They stop playing the same thing on the radio

Is Radio Dead?

Many people are predicting that radio will die because of satellite radio, ipods, mp3’s, etc. Radio will not die, in some ways it will be better! You might be saying radio sucks. Is radio suffering, of course, but the idea that it’s going to simply disappear is off based. Our predictions for radio: Urban/hip-hop radio is in trouble. Many cities will begin to have only one hip-hop station The new rating system (PPM) will force radio companies to abandon the Hip-Hop format. The problem with PPM is well documented. Would you walk around with a tracking device?? Another reason is … Continue reading Is Radio Dead?
